Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, this Pro Series blade supports both wet and dry cutting. To unlock its full professional performance, follow these guidelines:
- Wet cutting (recommended for high‑volume continuous work): Using water or coolant provides maximum cooling, dust suppression, and extends blade life to 2–3 times that of dry cutting. For long, uninterrupted jobs (e.g., large concrete slab scoring), wet cutting is the preferred method.
- Dry cutting (for sites without water or occasional use): The Pro Series' enhanced heat dissipation gives better dry performance than standard blades. However, always use an intermittent technique – cut for about 15–20 seconds, then lift the blade out and let it spin freely in the air for 10–15 seconds to cool, preventing core warping.
Special note: A 7" blade demands sufficient machine power – an angle grinder of ≥ 1500W is recommended. Insufficient power reduces RPM, increases friction, and prevents the Pro Series from delivering its best.
his Pro Series 7" blade is a professional‑grade tool engineered for high‑intensity, high‑frequency jobs. Compared to a standard 7" blade, the core upgrades include:
① Premium diamond formulation – with higher‑grade, higher‑concentration diamonds, delivering faster cutting speed and superior wear resistance in rough concrete and rebar‑embedded concrete, significantly extending effective service life;
② Reinforced steel core – made of high‑toughness alloy steel for better flex resistance and vibration damping, reducing wobble at high speeds on powerful angle grinders for smoother, safer cuts;
③ Efficient cooling gullets – the segmented slots are optimised for smooth debris evacuation and improved airflow, keeping temperatures under control even during prolonged dry cutting.
Compared to the 4½" Pro Series, the 7" diameter offers a greater single‑pass cutting depth (approx. 50–60mm), making it ideal for deeper cuts such as block slotting, concrete slab cutting, and pipe installations – while still fitting most 7" (180mm) angle grinders for a balance of versatility and productivity.
Best suited materials: rough concrete, reinforced concrete, bricks, blocks, asphalt, and coarse stone.
Follow these operation and maintenance practices to maximise blade durability and cutting efficiency, while ensuring workplace safety:
Longevity tips:
- "Break in" new blades: Before first use, make 3–5 shallow cuts on soft abrasive material (e.g., old cinder blocks or sandstone) to expose the diamond grit and prevent initial skipping.
- Avoid forcing the blade: Let the grinder's power and the blade's own weight do the work. Excessive pressure causes overheating, wobble, and accelerated wear.
- "Sharpen" if glazed: If cutting speed drops and the surface looks smooth, cut through an abrasive block or old brick several times to re‑expose fresh diamond particles.
- Install correctly: Ensure the directional arrow matches the spindle rotation. This blade has a 22.23mm (7/8") arbor – standard for most 7" grinders. If your machine has a different arbor, use the included reduction rings.
